Mustard Seed Market

November 9th through December 31st 2020

The Social Justice/Outreach Team is pleased to share that we will be offering a Mustard Seed Market in 2020. For those of you who may not be familiar with this activity, the Mustard Seed Market is a way for holiday shoppers to honor friends and family with gifts that can transform lives in developing nations and in our own Kalamazoo community.

This year, we have the opportunity to partner with 10 ministries: St. Martin’s India Ministry, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation/Re-Member, Open Doors, Ministry with Community, Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes, Adopt a Friend for Life of SW MI, Clean Water for the World, OutFront Kalamazoo, Refugee Resettlement Program, and Diapers, Etc. Details on each of the ministry partners are outlined in the enclosed brochure.

As many of you may recall, we typically operate the market in the Great Hall before and after Sunday service. Given Covid-19, we will not be able to conduct the market in person. Instead, this year we plan to hold a virtual market. Details on how the market will work are summarized below.

Here is how to place an order:

  • Review the ministry descriptions using the enclosed brochure or by accessing the on-line catalog on the St. Martin's website
  • Use the enclosed order form to select those gifts that you would like to purchase. A copy of the order form is also available on the St. Martin's website
  • Place your order and pay for your gift in one of two ways:
    1. Write a check (noting Mustard Seed Market in the memo line) and mail your completed order form and check to St. Martin’s, 2010 Nichols Rd., Kalamazoo, MI. 49004. – OR –
    2. Use the on-line donation link on our website to both order and pay. If you use the on-line Donate option, you do not need to send us anything more.
  • After orders are processed, we will send you a description of your gift which you can give to your recipient. These will be sent to you either through the mail or via e-mail, whichever you prefer.

For everyone’s safety, we ask that parishioners not come to the church to drop off orders, pick up inserts, or make payments.

The market opens November 9th and runs through December 31st. However, to ensure delivery of inserts by the holidays, we encourage parishioners to place orders by December 11th.

We hope you will participate in St. Martin’s 2020 Mustard Seed Market. Should you have any questions, please reach out to either Laura Eiler or Pat Vinge.
